More Connecticut

The praying mantis is the official state insect of Connecticut. Next is a cluster of oak leaves and acorns. The eastern oyster is the state shellfish. Also shown are a great horned owl and porcupine representing Connecticut and New England.

Introduction

We are using this blog to show a series of 50 state mandalas featuring the symbols and iconic images of all the US states. We have started with the state of Maine, and have added Arizona, and New Hampshire. This will be a unique collection that will appeal to residents of the various states, tourists, RVers, and travelers in general. In time, we will even branch out to the Canadian provinces, Mexican states, and on from there. We will need help in design, sales, music, and more with this project as it expands; so if you are interested, let us know. Each mandala will have a supporting video with engaging graphics, explanatory text, and music.

Inspiration

Each of the state mandalas will emphasize the natural beauty of the region; and celebrate the variety of scenery, wildlife, and activity offered across the country. Travel gives us an opportunity to experience both the diversity and the commonality which we share. We will eventually do longer videos as teaching tools for geography in schools. It is our intention that these designs will inspire an appreciation of what each state has to offer, and promote our working together to our common benefit.
